The Cannaregio sestiere is very charming. While it is one of the most popular neighborhoods, it is quiet and full of priceless treasures. From St. Mark's Square, you arrive at the Pantheon and the immense Dominican Church of Saints John and Paul, with works by Giovanni Bellini, Vivarini, Lorenzo Lotto and other famous artists. For several centuries, the Doges and heroes fallen in wars against the Venetians, Turks and Genoese were buried in this church. Passing then to the beautiful Church of Miracles, with its marvellous Renaissance architecture, you arrive at the House of Marco Polo. From there, we proceed to the Jesuit church and the Scuola Grande della Misericordia. Moving on, we arrive at the Church of Madonna dell'Orto, a must for understanding the artistic path of Tintoretto. Nearby is the St. Alvise Church with the works of the young Tiepolo. After this, we finally come to the historic Jewish Ghetto.
